In the middle of the 1980s, the successful Rotafil Company, owned by the Italian family Massaro, decided to expand their already lucrative motor business by adding a new line of vacuum cleaners. The Lindhaus Vacuum Cleaners were the end result. Lindhaus was a perfect fit for the region in which it was designed - that region of Italy between Milan and Venice that is often referred to as Little Japan for its technological prowess and innovation - similar to Silicon Valley in the United States. The Lindhaus Vacuum Cleaners were eventually moved to the United States in 1992, where Lindhaus has garnered success for itself with such innovative products as the Lindhaus Aria vacuum, Activa, and Diamante models paving the way for the company as it staked out its American market territory.
Lindhaus Vacuum Cleaners were originally designed with commercial cleaning in mind, but that venture proved so popular that the Massaros expanded their product development to include a line of Lindhaus Vacuum Cleaners for homeowner use. Lindhaus has a reputation for quality that is matched by few others. Perhaps it is the Italian allure, but many users of Lindhaus Vacuum Cleaners view the possession of a Lindhaus as somewhat of a statement of status. If status is related to price, as some believe, then Lindhaus Vacuum Cleaners would certainly fit the bill, as many of their units are near or above the $1000 mark.
But it is also true that you get what you pay for. And in Lindhaus, consumers are buying a vacuum cleaner of extraordinary design with a number of features that make every Lindhaus Vacuum an extremely versatile cleaning tool. From the Diamonte Electronic to the Lindhaus Aria Vacuum, these units are built to last, and designed to be user friendly. The Lindhaus Aria Vacuum unit - known as the Platinum Canister is a very quiet, but powerful model that has earned high reviews from most users. The Diamonte also operates on an extremely quiet sound level, and is versatile enough for either vacuuming or dry cleaning of rugs and carpets. The Activa combines carpet cleaning with the latest technology for reducing allergen activity in the home.
Most complaints of Lindhaus vacuums revolve around the issues you would expect to be controversial. Of course, the price of the Lindhaus models is foremost on the list of negatives, as every Lindhaus model, from the Lindhaus Aria Vacuum to the Activa, is priced in the $1000 range. Proponents point out that the premium price is reflective of the premium product that your $1000 buys, although the price does limit the households that are able to afford these cleaners. The other main drawback of these units is something that is complained about frequently no matter the brand or model - cords that are too short for most rooms. It is almost understandable in lower priced machines, but many consumers expect a little more cord length when they pay a premium price. Nevertheless, with the Lindhaus Aria Vacuum, the Diamonte, and their other quality products, Lindhaus has quickly earned a place in the niche market for premium household products in the United States.
