iRobot was the brainchild of MIT roboticists who had a vision of transforming robotic technology into everyday practical products that could benefit all of mankind. Since the company's founding in 1990, iRobot has grown to employ more than 400 of the world's top roboticists, and now has offices in several U.S. States, as well as in the U.K., India, France, China, and Hong Kong. The iRobot Vacuum Cleaner has been sold in the millions to consumers around the world, and the iRobot Vacuum Cleaner called the Roomba has demonstrated the era of robot cleaning is finally here. In addition, the company's manufacture of robots for military and industrial usage is protecting lives in some of the most dangerous places on earth. As they continue further consumer innovation, iRobot also remains at the cutting edge of robotic unmanned vehicles for use on both the ground and underwater. They are partnered with the United States government in developing the Army's Future Combat Systems technology.
iRobot Vacuum Cleaner technology has a reputation for solid performance and a small design that makes for easy storage and transport. Weighing only a few pounds, the iRobot Vacuum is packed with technological advances that include sophisticated sensors for detecting walls, steps, and other obstacles, as well as programmable features that enable the consumer to define the parameters of the cleaning area. The iRobot Vacuum and iRobot Vacuum parts are renowned for their quality. In addition to the Roomba, the iRobot Vacuum line also includes the iRobot Scooba, which is a floor washing robot, as well as the iRobot Dirt Dog that specializes in cleaning the heavier messes in shops. Other iRobot Vacuum products of note are the iRobot Verro pool cleaning robot, and the iRobot Looj, which is designed to clean out gutters.
All of the iRobot Vacuum Cleaner products are considered top of the line from a technological standpoint. That does not, however, mean that iRobot Vacuum Cleaner units and iRobot vacuum parts are not subject to the occasional criticism. There are some common complaints that follow certain iRobot Vacuum units, with the most common criticism pertaining to the battery life of the unit. The typical model only holds its charge for a maximum of one hour, though that time period varies according to usage. In addition, some have complained that the Roomba is not designed for heavy cleaning, but rather for light maintenance work - though the manufacturers have not presented it as anything other than a light maintenance unit. On the whole, both iRobot Vacuums, as well as iRobot vacuum parts, are well respected by the consumers who use them.
It should be noted that the technology involved in iRobot products is not the only thing for which the company draws praise. Their distribution system makes iRobot Vacuums and iRobot vacuum parts easily obtainable over the internet, making repair and maintenance much easier than some other companies' products. iRobot's status at the forefront of consumer robotics should help to ensure that iRobot Vacuum Cleaners and iRobot vacuum parts remain among the most innovative products for home cleaning for some time to come.
